Time to Show Off

This Saturday, April 16th, at 4:30 pm, we are going to be holding a Gymnastics Elite Showcase for our Intermediate Girls Gymnastics and Shining Stars programs! We always get really exited when we get a chance to hold one of these "mock meets" because we find that it is very beneficial for our students in many different ways. It gives them a chance to show off what they have learned and makes them feel like their hard work and efforts are being recognized and rewarded. This encourages them to keep wanting to move forward and progress in their skills and helps boost their enthusiasm and determination in their classes. This showcase is not a competition and there will not be any scoring so their won't be any 1st, 2nd or 3rd place rankings but it will follow the format of a competitive gymnastics meet. This event exposes them to what it is like to be at a competition but every child will get on top of a podium and receive a medal just based on their courage to participate. Here at Gymnastics Elite, building up a child's confidence and making sure they have a healthy, positive attitude is just as important as developing their physical skills. Working on instilling or affirming positive characteristics is half the battle in teaching them the sport and how fast or slow they will progress. They will be performing only the specific skills for every apparatus (beam, bars, vault, floor) that they have been training on with their coaches every class which are from a very specific lesson plan. They will also be separated by level so they will be performing with their peers and equals. These showcases are a exciting events and provide the perfect opportunity for our parents and any other family and friends of our participants to come support and see what they can do! No tickets needed and there will be plenty of seating space. These events are meant to be fun but they also have an important purpose behind them which is to recognize, reaffirm and reward our students hard work so that they have a better chance of progressing forward in the sport of gymnastics!
